Celebrating 9 years post-stroke with a 9-mile mountain run. Vail, CO.
My Bio
I have been a lawyer for the last 29 years. At the time of my first career burnout, most of my life was outward-focused. My career, partnership, rock and ice climbing, running and cycling-these life circumstances were how I defined my life. At 43, I tore my vertebral artery and had a stroke. I had to re-learn how to walk, dress, and feed myself. After a year, I was able to drive a car again.
I had to give up most of the activities that defined my life. Except one-my career. I learned to write again and learned to type with one hand. I threw myself back into workaholism. My life-changing event had failed to change my life! It took me another few years to realize that no one was coming to save me.
I hired a coach and realized the value of having someone else help me clarify my thoughts and feelings. The transformational power of coaching changed my life and caused me to become a coach. I am a Certified Coach through the Life Coach School and a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (“iPEC”).
